Your Thank You page is hands down some of the most valuable real estate on your website

Yet most businesses treat it like an afterthought. 

The thank you page appears the moment after your prospect has just said “YES” to you. They will never be more engaged or interested in your business than they are at that exact second.

In the UX world, we call this a "seducible moment." It’s the smile after the handshake; the perfect opening to deepen the conversation.

I want you to pause and think about the content of your thank you pages. Do they simply say "Thanks, we'll be in touch" or are you using that moment to engage and upsell?

If it’s the former, I want you to grab a notebook and pen and ask yourself 2 questions. 

  • Question 1: “What does my client need at this moment?” 

  • Question 2: “What do I want them to do next?”

A great Thank You page should achieve at least one of these three things:

1. To orientate a customer towards their next step and help deliver them an exceptional customer experience.

2. To move your prospect into the next logical step in your funnel. If that’s to book a discovery call, this is where you ask for it. If it’s to purchase something, this is where you upsell. 

3. (This one is my favourite) To learn something about them. 

Quick Tip

I love using a one-question survey: “What was happening in your life that brought you here today?”

This reveals the "Inciting Incident" or the exact trigger that caused them to take the previous action. When you understand that trigger, you can speak to your audience at the precise moment they are ready to buy.

You’re smiling, they’re smiling.
