Discover why AI-generated "thought leadership" is doing more harm than good to your personal brand, and why your audience can always tell the difference.
Learn why authentic, human storytelling (warts, typos, and bad jokes included) is far more persuasive on LinkedIn than polished, algorithm-chasing content.
Uncover how to reclaim your unique voice and point of view to build real connections that actually move the needle in your business.
I’m going to be blunt: we can all spot an AI LinkedIn post a mile away*.
So why do ‘thought leaders’ and ‘experts’ keep telling themselves that they’re fooling anyone with their weird stilted sentences and long form posts saying nothing at all?
Sure, bots are good at writing low stakes text. But for the love of all that is holy, stop outsourcing your ‘thought leadership' to a robot.
There is a fine line between using the tool and becoming the tool.
Take this gem I scrolled past recently from a ‘communications strategist’ (names removed to protect the guilty).

Absolutely meaningless. A total waste of everyone’s time, including hers.
Am I psyched for this lady that she was in the Bad Bunny halftime show? Hell yeah I am. My little family just dropped hundreds of dollars to go shake our maracas to the music of the man himself next week.
This post would have been way more interesting and relatable had she just written:
“Woot! I was grass #19 in the Bad Bunny halftime show and I am super proud of myself for doing it even though I was crapping my dacks”
Somewhere along the way, we’ve bought into this idea that the point of LinkedIn is to produce enough volume that we trick the algorithms into bestowing a bit of reach upon us.
It’s not. This is a business networking platform. We are all here to build connections and to persuade those connections that we have something interesting to offer.
The whole point of social media is to be social.
Nobody wants to invite a weird, perfect Stepford Wife to the dinner party. They want to interact with a human being, warts and all. Bad takes, crappy jokes, and the occasional typo included.
When you strip the humanity out of your social media to save five minutes of thinking, you aren’t being efficient. You’re wasting your audience's time and giving people the ick.
And possibly being scratched off someone’s dinner party invite list.
So let us see the real you.
We can all type a prompt into a sophisticated predictive text bot and get it to spit out a long form LinkedIn post about “the true meaning of leadership”.
Your thoughts, your voice and your unique point of view are way more interesting.
And a million times more persuasive.
